This policy explains exactly which cookies and similar technologies the Maison uses, who sets them, and what they do.

When you first arrive at www.themaisonworld.com you are shown a cookie banner. The choice is binary: • Accept — we may load analytics (Google Analytics 4) and advertising (Meta Pixel) scripts. Your preference is saved in your browser as maison_cookie_consent = "accepted". • Decline — we will not load any analytics or advertising scripts. Your preference is saved as maison_cookie_consent = "declined". Essential cookies (session, cart, security) continue to operate. Your choice is sticky: we will not re-prompt you. To change it, clear the maison_cookie_consent value in your browser's site-data settings — the banner will appear again on your next visit.

These cookies and storage items are necessary for the site to function. Most browsers will let you block them at the browser level — at the cost of broken functionality. maison_admin_session — HTTP-only cookie used for admin-area authentication. Set by us at /api/admin/session for admin users only. Signed and short-lived; expires when the admin session ends. maison_invited — HTTP-only cookie granted to invited visitors during the pre-launch preview window. Set by us at /api/invite/accept. Bypasses the launch gate. Lasts 90 days. maison_waitlist_joined — set after you complete waitlist OTP verification. Used by the launch-gate to route returning visitors directly to the coming-soon page rather than the manifesto. Lasts 1 year. maison_manifesto_seen — set after the pre-launch manifesto film has played. Used by the launch-gate to skip the film on subsequent visits. Lasts 30 days. maison_cookie_consent — your cookie-banner choice ("accepted" or "declined"). Stored in browser localStorage, not as an HTTP cookie. Persists until you clear site data. Sentry (crash & error reporting) — set by Functional Software Inc. on every page load to capture JavaScript exceptions, server errors, and a small sample of performance traces, so we can fix what is broken. We run a deliberately stripped configuration: no session replay, no IP capture, no cookies forwarded, and request bodies are dropped before transmission. We treat this as a security and reliability tool — a "specified legitimate use" under Section 7 of the DPDP Act, 2023 — and it therefore does not require your consent. To opt out completely, disable third-party scripts for *.sentry.io in your browser.

In addition to the cookies above, the Maison uses your browser's local storage for items that improve your experience but never leave your device. Skin / hair analysis results — keys *maison_skin_analysis* and *maison_hair_analysis*. The non-medical assessment returned by our AI vision model is held in your browser only, with a 1-hour timestamp after which the page treats it as expired. Clearing site data deletes them immediately. Cart, wishlist, and preferences — held in your browser via local storage backed Zustand stores. They are not transmitted to our servers as cookies; they sync to your account only when you sign in and place an order.

Used to understand how visitors arrive at the site, which pages are used, and which features convert. Identifies a returning device but does not identify you personally to us. Some pages embed third-party widgets — for example a YouTube video on a story page or an Instagram feed. These embeds may set their own cookies under their own privacy policies. We do not control them. Disabling third-party cookies in your browser will block most of them.
